Valdosta Wake Compound welcomes the Georgia Wake Series for Stop #4 GWS

Atlanta, Georgia (July 11, 2017) – Since its inception over five years ago, the crew at Valdosta Wake Compound have been putting their own stamp on wake.  Custom kickers, rails, pole jams, and pool gaps galore line the waters on the edge of I-75 in Valdosta.  From their humble beginnings to their current dreamland, Valdosta Wake Compound is now a focal point of the wake scene, both nationally and worldwide.

After their first full-length film, The Coalition, released in 2016 with some of the most progressive cable- and winch-riding to date, it appeared the boys at VWC would have a tough time one-upping such a great year.  But not to be outdone, the SpaceMob crew launched into 2017 by hosting the Valdosta Yard Sale and Stop 1 of The Wakeskate Tour simultaneously across an entire weekend that saw some of the most progressive riding to date.

This weekend Valdosta Wake Compound welcomes the Georgia Wake Series for Stop #4 of the 2017 season. VWC’s Director Luke Tilt said, “We’re looking forward to hosting the Georgia Wake Series this weekend. Bringing a regional event through VWC will be great for the scene and will make for a fun contest and exciting weekend for riders of all skill levels.”

Stop #4 of the Georgia Wake Series will add some additional VWC flair, following the format of the Yard Sale qualifier.  Riders in each class will have two one-lap runs.  Each one-lap run will be scored with the best lap counting.  Scoring will be based on the “best line” with judges taking into account the entire composition of each rider’s lap. Only two riders will be on the eight-carrier cable at a time ensuring smooth water.

Head down to VWC on Friday and get your lines dialed and then come grab some sunrise laps Saturday morning. Yeah, that’s right.  VWC will start spinning at 7:00 am, giving competitors a jump-start on the contest. The Practice Pass is $45.00, exclusive to competitors, and will be valid both before and after the event on Saturday.  In order to accommodate practice and maximize water time, registration will open at 9:00 am with the first rider off the dock at 10:30 am Saturday, July 15th.  So pack your boards, tent, and aim towards Valdosta for Stop #4 of the Georgia Wake Series and get ready for all that VWC has to offer.
