Today, JOBE Sports proudly announced the addition of Julian and Yonel Cohen to their wakeboard team.
Born in California, Julian Cohen moved to Florida at a young age and started wakeboarding shortly after. By the time he was 14, he was already killing it on the water. He became the first and youngest wakeboarder to land a 1080 in a cable competition. From there he worked his way up through the rankings to take 5th at the 2011 World Cable Championships, 2nd at the 2011 USA Boat Nationals and he ranked 1st on the 2011 USA Wakeboard listing.
Julian is a fan favorite all over the world because of his friendly and personable character. Always joking around and having fun, you’ll most likely see him with a camera in hand, making a new clip to post on You Tube or Facebook. He is quite the entertainer on and off the water… You might even be lucky enough to catch a fashion air dismount from the cable. Julian currently lives in Orlando, FL and rides cable almost every day. Some perceive him as an all cable rider, but if you’ve ever seen this guy take a boat set with Coach Mike Ferraro, you’d know better. Julian is an all-around amazing talent, and if you haven’t seen him ride, you should definitely check him out. He is currently working with the JOBE design team to assist in research and development of a board that will make him unbeatable on the water. Follow him on twitter at juliancohen11!
Yonel Cohen should not be perceived in the shadow of his big brother. This 13-year old probably has more style than most other experienced riders on the water. If you’ve seen him shred your local cable park, you would definitely agree. Starting with wakeboarding at the age of 3, Yonel immediately loved being on the water. He loved getting to ride with his brother and learning how to put his own style on his riding. Yonel recently placed 4th in the Junior Pro division at the Cable Nationals in 2011 and is looking to take the top of the podium this year. You can catch Yonel at his local cable park in Orlando (OWC) almost any day of the week on his JOBE Vanity. Make sure to keep your eye on this kid. He’ll be one to watch in the upcoming season!
