The Review: April Music

|Pomegranates _Everybody Come In__myspace.com/pomegranatesart****__**Stars:** ****__After Pomegranates’ debut in 2008, the band was quickly heralded as one to watch by bloggers and indie radio influencers. The band capitalized on that success by touring and quickly getting into the studio to record their follow-up, _Everybody Come In!_ The result is a dreamy and spacey record that dazzles your senses with a fuzzy blend of pop rock and songs about a man who leaves home and is abducted by a time traveler. Weird? Not really. Times like these call for quality music that makes you happy with its greatness. “Everybody, Come Outside!” “The Southern Ocean” and “Corriander” fit the bill perfectly. _| |

|Settle At Home We Are Tourists****myspace.com/settle********_Stars:** ****1/2_****_Trying to find words to describe Settle’s debut LP _At Home We Are Tourists_ is hard. The record is fun; it’s inspiring; it’s danceable; it’s emotional; it’s punk; it’s pop; it’s indie; it’s rock; it’s smart; it’s fresh; it’s catchy; it’s witty; it’s amazing; it’s meaningful; it’s different; and it’s my new favorite! The songs are upbeat and get your adrenaline pumping. Kinda like a disco version of Taking Back Sunday or Jimmy Eat World. They already won MTVU’s Best Music on Campus and are set to conquer the world. Put “Naked At A Family Function,” “Murder” and “On The Prowl” on your iPod now. _**| |

|White Rabbits _It’s Frightening _whiterabbitsmusic.com Stars: **** Good news! They say that when tough times are afoot that good music surfaces as a result. Coincidentally, White Rabbits is releasing their sophomore effort, It’s Frightening, capturing times of uncertainty and introversion. The record is full of rootsy and dark guitar-rich pop songs that are complicated and soulful. This comes as no surprise since Spoon’s Britt Daniel produced the record. With every listen, the record ggets better and better and has quickly become a favorite. Think Spoon, Radiohead and The Promise Ring. You’ll love “Rudie Fails,” “Lionesse” and “Company I Keep.”| |

|Wild Light Adult Nights _myspace.com/wildlight Stars: ***1/2When you think New Hampshire, great music probably isn’t your first thought. If all goes as planned, Wild Light will change that. _Adult Nights is full of melodic sing-along songs reminiscent of Snow Patrol and Death Cab for Cutie. Wild Light has made quite a first impression, having shared the stage with LCD Soundsystem, Tapes n Tapes and Arcade Fire before even releasing their full-length debut. With their catchy and upbeat indie-pop songs, you’ll for sure see them headlining theaters in no time. Check out “California On My Mind,” “Heart Attack” and “New Years Eve.”| |Songs to download: **Asher Roth//“I Love College”//myspace.com/asherrothmusic Far East Movement//“Girls on the Dance Floor”//myspace.com/fareastmovement Iglu & Hartly//“In This City”//igluandhartly.com Mims//“Move (If You Wanna)”//mimsmusic.net Neko Case//“People Got A Lotta Nerve”//myspace.com/nekocase Starsailor//“Tell me It’s Not Over”//starsailor.net The Oohlas//“Lemmings Anthem”//myspace.com/theoohlas The Prodigy//“Invaders Must Die”//**last.fm/the+prodigy |
