WSIA’s Summit in the Snow

The WSIA’s Summit in the Snow finished on February 28 after three days of keynote speakers, presentations, a WSIA board meeting and more than 2 feet of snow on the slopes of Park City, Utah. Overall, the summit was a major success. The amount of support that the industry leaders gave during the course of the week proved to everyone involved that the WSIA Summit is going to be a pivotal event for everyone in the water sports industry in years to come. Along with the knowledge gained from educational presentations, the opportunity to network and make companies aware of the latest industry news and trends is a major benefit for anyone attending.

The World Wakeboard Association (WWA) hosted the breakfast on the second day of the summit with Matt Hickman, editor of WakeBoarding magazine, and Blake Hess of the Texas Ski Ranch presenting. The WWA expressed its interest in wake parks, and the potential for them to positively influence the sports of wakeboarding and wakeskating on a global level by exposing individuals who would not normally have access to them. They also described the direct benefits to each industry segment (board, boat and accessory companies) for supporting wake parks, as well as the unique medium that wake parks provide the industry in the sense that they are contained environments for direct exposure of product placement and signage. As always, the WWA is dedicated to get more people involved in the sport of wakeboarding and continues to fuel the growth by supporting initiatives that do so.

The World Wakeboard Association would like to give a Special Twhanks to MMIA Inc., Chubb Custom Market, WakeBoarding magazine, WaterSki magazine, Surf Expo, World Sports and Marketing, Harley-Davidson, The U.S. Coast Guard, The Orlando Watersports Complex, The Texas Ski Ranch, KC Watersports, Ski Rixen, and The Water Sports Industry Association.
