JD Webb and Brian Grubb made a pit stop from the Pro Tour to poach the never-been-ridden Indianapolis Canal, putting on a show for local Indy residents.

Not to be deterred by a little rain, JD and Grubb were motivated to make the most of the day. As soon as daylight broke, they were out on the canal scoping their drop points and creating trick features to hit along the way.

“Being right downtown was awesome,” says JD Webb. “We used a boat, park bench and even the MXT to engineer different obstacles for our riding.”

The winch was ready to go leaving, JD and Grubb no time to hesitate. They dropped in and ollied every bench, rail and ivy covered sidewalk they could find.

“We’ve been to Indy in the past for competitions, but never downtown,” says Brian Grubb. “It’s really cool to poach in an urban environment. Anytime I see a body of water, big or small, I envision what tricks I could do. It’s our way of street skating.”

By late afternoon, the two were pulling moves in uncharted territory for a crowd of people who didn’t know what to expect next. Grubb acid dropped into the canal from the top of Red Bull’s MXT, a nine-and-a-half foot tall ex-military truck turned mobile party. Webb ollied onto a four-foot high guard rail at the end of the canal.
