At just over 23.5 feet, the Ri237 is no small boat, and its surf wave follows suit. With over 5,000 pounds of ballast, there’s some serious displacement potential. Ramfill accounts for 2,550 pounds of these ballast numbers, and it fills in 45 seconds. A hatch under the boat opens to flood the liner of the hull and literally sinks the boat down until water comes shooting out the overflow holes, certainly one of the most unique and effective ways to get ballast into a boat. From there, you fill the plug-and-play ballast, select which side you want to surf with the available QuickSurf Pro, and tweak the running attitude with the Stinger Wake Plate. Centurion didn’t forget about handling either: The Ri237 sports a QuickLaunch feature that decreases time to plane and bow rise.
With all this emphasis on surf, you might think the Ri237 is just a wake machine, but inside it’s all luxury and outside it’s all style. The hybrid bow has deep gunwales that make room for speakers, grab handles, cup holders and LED lighting. The lounge has multiple snap-out flooring options, a three-position convertible rear bench-style seat, marine-grade foam on step points, and the Downfire audio system to control where you want your music. The transom has surfboard-size storage in the gull wings, a center walk-through, and wet storage for your gear. At the helm, you’ve got the high-definition dual touchscreens that work together on certain functions and separately on others. The exterior gelcoat designs are nearly limitless and applied by true artisans.
