Centurion Boats serves as the primary sponsor for the 2026 series, which functions as a qualifying circuit leading to the 2026 Centurion World Wake Surfing Championship. The pinnacle event is scheduled for Oct. 1-3, 2026, at Lake Silver, where competitors will vie for world champion titles across multiple divisions.

The series utilizes the Centurion Ri230 as the official tow boat for all competitive events, establishing a direct link between boat engineering and competitive standards. The Ri230’s wave performance characteristics play a fundamental role in dictating scoring potential for professional athletes.

Geographic Expansion Targets Japanese Market

The 2026 calendar displays a significant international footprint, with nearly half of the season’s events taking place in Japan. The schedule includes four distinct Japanese stops:

  • Centurion Wake Surf Hiroshima Open 2026 (May 3)
  • Centurion Wake Surf Hamanako Open 2026 (June 7)
  • Centurion Wake Surf Japan Open 2026 – Lake Biwa (July 11-12)
  • Centurion Wake Surf Chubu Open 2026 in Tokoname (Aug. 23)

Domestic events span multiple states including Texas, Tennessee, California and New York. The Wild West Shootout 2026 at Pleasant Harbor Marina opened the season April 10-11, while subsequent stops include the Volunteer Wake Surf Classic in Johnson City, Tennessee (June 19-20) and the Cowtown Wake Fest in Fort Worth, Texas (July 17-18).

Strong Demand Signals Growing Sport

Evidence of the sport’s rapid commercialization emerged early in the season when the Come and Take It Conroe Classic in Texas sold out ahead of its May 8-9 date at Lake Conroe. The series is moving toward a digital-first approach to audience engagement, with live streaming scheduled for the Conroe Classic beginning at 8:00 a.m. on May 9.

The World Wake Association (WWA), a rider-formed organization dedicated to promoting competitive wake sports, maintains a global calendar that includes WSWS events alongside other industry competitions. The WWA emphasizes its organizational structure is “developed for riders by riders,” having sanctioned and produced more than 15,000 worldwide events.
