I cruised over to the U.A.E. last week to attend the WWA Wake Park World Championships at the Al Forsan Sport Resort in Abu Dhabi. The park and venue for this contest was absolutely insane. They had two full sized cables (one right and one left), a two tower system, the best kart track I’ve ever driven on in my life, 3 paintball arenas, and tons of other stuff to do as well.
The contest was as smooth as eggs, and to a few people’s surprise, German’s Dominik Guhrs went out during the final of Pro Men and took out heavy hitters Tom Fooshee and Fredy von Osten. Andy Kolb of Germany took home the wakeskate title, and Maxine Sapulette of the Netherlands won for the Women. The event, facility and riding for the WWA Wake Park Worlds made this the by and far the best cable contest of the year. Here’s a few snaps during the week that I took in between judging. Enjoy!
