The Tootsie Roll

Rider: Chris Ramirez
Level: Advanced

The difference between this and a froot loop is that the board rolls edge over edge, instead of flipping end over end. Take a short but aggressive toeside cut at the wake, but slam on the brakes as you’re coming in and ride up the wake on your heels. As you pop off and start to do a front roll, simultaneously pull the handle to the small of your back and turn your head in a blind rotation (away from the boat.) Keep the handle in close to your body, rope tight, and reach behind you for the handle pass. Then spot the water and get ready to land.

Rider’s Tip:
Keep those eyes open! You can see the water the entire time you’re doing a tootsie roll, which helps to land the move.
