For all you creative types, we’ve partnered up with our friends over at Slingshot to bring you one of the coolest contests in wakeboarding. The TransWorld Design-A-Board Contest gives you a blank canvas and the chance to create the artwork for your very own custom wakeboard. With their impressive 4D graphic technology, Slingshot will custom-build your board in their Moonshine manufacturing facilities located in the Pacific Northwest. Slingshot will also allow you to choose your preferred track color, rocker pattern and outline shape (only from team series: response, recoil or reflex). The winner, chosen by the TransWorld staff, will have his or her board manufactured and delivered to his or her door.
Here’s how we’re going to do it. We’ve given you a template file below with the blank outline of a board. You can use whatever medium you choose to design the artwork for the top deck of your Slingshot. When you export the file from whatever design software you use, the art should be 22 inches wide by 62 inches tall at 150 dpi to keep the file at a high enough resolution to be printed on the wakeboard. We will accept JPGs, TIFFs, PDFs, and PSD and Illustrator files. People that are hand drawing, painting or whatever else must print out the template and mail in their artwork on paper up to size 13 by 19, which will be scanned after being mailed in.
All submissions are permissible for TransWorld WAKEBOARDING to use in social media, online and in print. We plan to show weekly submissions that we like as they come in, do a full gallery on our site of the Top 20 submissions we received, and we’ll be putting the winning board design on the pages of TransWorld WAKEBOARDING magazine. We will be accepting submissions until Oct. 1, with the winner being announced shortly after. All submissions emailed in will receive news and special offers from Slingshot.
