Meet Cami Webb, the winner of the March 2011 Miss TransWorld WAKEBOARDING model search. This 21-year-old University of Tennessee student will go on to compete for the overall 2011 Miss TransWorld WAKEBOARDING crown. If she wins, she’ll get decked out in Rockstar Energy bikinis for a photo shoot aboard the TransWorld WAKEBOARDING Supra Launch 21V. Meantime, we asked Cami a grip of questions and put together a few of our favorite photos of her.
Hometown: Gatlinburg, Tennessee
How long have you been wakeboarding? Two years
How did you get started? I’ve been snowboarding for about eight years and have always been a lover of the board sports industry. The crew from The Board Room Inc., a local board sports shop, got me out on the lake a few summers ago, because I’d been dying to learn how to shred on the water, not just snow. I’m down for anything that involves a board and bikini.
Where’s your favorite place to ride? Watts Bar Lake in Kingston, Tennessee
You live Knoxville. What’s the wakeboarding scene like there? The wakeboard scene in Knoxville is rad. With tons of local lakes and waterways, including the Tennessee River that runs through the heart of downtown, it’s never hard to find butter water even on the weekends. Knoxville hosts plenty of events like Throw N Down Thursdays at Wild Wings and Rail-o-ween to keep the scene alive, and we’ve got some serious local riders as well as pro riders who call Knoxville home, from Jeff House to Justin Jenkins. Plus, many of the industry’s top boat brands have factories in East Tennessee, including Mastercraft, Malibu, Moomba, and Supra.
Ever been to the Pro Wakeboard Tour when it’s in town? Yeah, it’s a blast! I’m definitely stoked to go this year too. Pretty sure it’s considered the best stop of the tour.
What’s the one trick you wish you could do most? Tantrum
Who’s your favorite pro rider? Olivier Derome
What do you do for a living? Right now I’m a full time student at the University of Tennessee. I make money on the side doing editorial work for online magazines and the occasional tennis lesson.
What kind of modeling experience do you have? I’ve modeled for four years for various print ads. Most recently, I was in the 2011 Pike Dream Girls Calendar and a finalist in the Elle Girl magazine model search.
Turn-ons? Spontaneity, a killer sense of humor, a good tan, and a perfectly executed wink.
Turn-offs? Greed, complaining, Ed Hardy, and bad shoes. You can tell a lot about a guy from his kicks.
