Wakeboarding Hometown Hottie Lindsey Harrod

You might recognize Lindsey Harrod from her work as one of the Crispy Bikini girls. After all, the 22-year-old California native has rocked the company’s handmade bikinis on wakeboardingmag.com on three different occasions. That was reason enough to throw our support behind Harrod in the finals of MAXIM magazine’s 2010 Hometown Hotties contest. But then we found out that this swimsuit model taught herself how to wakeboard when she was 12. Right then we decided Lindsey Harrod was going to be the 2010 Hometown Hotties winner, and we would enlist TransWorld WAKEBOARDING‘s readers to help. Enjoy Lindsey’s fourth photo gallery on wakeboardingmag.com and then head to maxim.com to vote for her in the 2010 Hometown Hotties contest.

You’re a student, right? Where do you go to school and what are you studying? Yes! I go to Palomar College in San Marcos, California. I’m a business major, and I’m also in the process of completing their interior design program.

We’ve seen you modeling Crispy Bikinis, but what other modeling have you done? I’ve done lots of various modeling, whether it be print or promotional. I’ve done work with MAXIM, Monster Energy, Spike TV, TransWorld Motocross, TransWorld Surf, other various action sports magazines, and numerous other publications. I’d say most people would recognize me though from my experience with Monster Energy.

What have you done so far as part of the Hometown Hotties contest? Well, up until about a month ago, all I had done was submit some photos of myself. But the people voted, and now here I am a top 10 finalist! MAXIM put up all 10 of the Hometown Hotties finalists at the Hardrock Hotel in San Diego, California, for a long week of photo shoots, events, and promotions. We were treated like queens. The experience was absolutely surreal.

What’s your level of involvement with wakeboading? I actually taught myself how to wakeboard when I was 12 years old. I was vacationing with my family in Oregon visiting some old family friends. They had just bought a used boat, and we decided to take it out on the lake for the day. There was an old wakeboard in the boat, and I asked if anyone knew how to ride it. No one did, so I hopped in the water and after three hours of patience and trial and error, I was up. I don’t get to wakeboard as often as I’d like to due to my busy schedule, but I love it! I also worked at a local wakeboard shop a couple years back. I loved that job!

Do you have a favorite pro wakeboarder? I wouldn’t say a favorite, no. But I did go to the Parks Bonifay Documentary premiere at Oakley last year, and let me tell you, I left a HUGE fan!

Describe your dream date. Why do men always takes girls to dinner and a movie or a walk on the beach? Take me to a comedy show and provide me with a nice glass of red wine — now you’ve got my attention.

Turn-ons? Confidence, good style and a sense of humor. I need a man that will make me laugh every day for the rest of my life.

Turn-offs? Players. I don’t play games and I can smell BS from a mile away.

Why should TransWorld WAKEBOARDING readers vote for you in the Hometown Hotties contest? Because I’m real and I don’t try to be anything I’m not. I’m fun, adventurous, witty, and to be completely honest, a total dork. I don’t think I’m like most girls. I bring something new to the table, but you’ll have to check me out on Maxim.com and let me know what you think for yourself!
