Taylor McCullough Wins Third Straight Nationals Title

Taylor McCullough, a 12-year-old Illinois native, won her third consecutive national title in the girls division at the 2010 Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships in Reno, Nevada.

Fresh off a photo shoot with Sports Illustrated and recently signing with several leading industry sponsors, McCullough took another step forward in her blossoming wakeboarding career.

“I want to accomplish as much as possible,” McCullough says. “My dream is to turn pro, so I like to make the most of every opportunity to help me become a better rider.”

McCullough began wakeboarding seven years ago in her hometown of Centralia, Illinois, and hopes to make the transition from amateur ripper to pro rider within the next two years.

“I keep training, trying to get better everyday,” McCullough says. “I spent the past few weeks preparing for Nationals and was really happy with the way I rode today.”

With today’s win, McCullough has punched her ticket to represent the United States at the 2010 Wakeboard World Championships later this year, where she will have the opportunity to defend her world title.
