Wake the Line is Happening This Weekend

The third-annual Wake the Line competition is back this 4th of July. It’s the largest obstacle-only event in the world, with 24 wakeboarders and wakeskaters battling it out for $10,000 in prize money. Last year‘s champion, Keith Lidberg (USA), will have to defend his title against the likes of Kevin Henshaw (USA), Parks Bonifay (USA), Shawn Watson (USA), Mark Rossiter (GBR) and Nico von Lerchenfeld (GER).

Sesitec’s System 2.0 two-tower cable system, which can pull in both directions on the course, tows riders through one of the most progressive rail parks ever built in three renovated pools at the Stadionbad in the heart of Cologne, Germany. Athletes have five different transfer options to impress the judges on the UNIT Parktech-designed course.

Thousands of spectators turn out for the event, which includes a barbecue and cold Red Bull in the stands, two wildcard entries during the warm up session and an after party with the pros. Admission is free, and the action starts at 1 p.m. local time.
