Cowtown Wakepark Hosts Free Riding On Trinity River

Cowtown Wakepark, the recently announced cable wakeboarding park project in Fort Worth, Texas, will host a wakeboard exhibition including free wakeboarding on the Trinity River for Mayfest. Cowtown has set up a Rixen Little Bro cable park as well as some kickers and rails on the Trinity River at Trinity Park, just two miles from the eventual site of Cowtown, which is currently being dug.

“We wanted to show the people of Fort Worth what wakeboarding is all about, so we teamed up with the best festival in the DFW area, got the world’s best riders to come out, and we will be having exhibitions and free wakeboarding all day until the festival is over,” says Tommy Fambrough, Cowtown’s owner.

JD Granger, the Executive Director of the Trinity Vision Authority adds, “We are very excited to have Cowtown Wakepark provide the river entertainment at Mayfest this year. Wakeboarding on the river is new to Fort Worth and is going to be so exciting for kids of all ages. We are thrilled that the best in the field of wakeboarding have embraced Fort Worth’s vision for enhanced recreation and development and owe a big thank you to the Tarrant Regional Water District for allowing this to happen. Come on down and see some great wakeboarding from world-class athletes and try wakeboarding for yourself, courtesy of the Cowtown Wakepark!”

Two-time Wake Park World Series champ Tom Fooshee will headline the exhibitions.

“I am really pumped up about the Little Bro at Mayfest and riding in front of a large crowd at such a unique venue,” Fooshee says. “I will be throwing some 900s, 720s, a Pete Rose or two, and some back lipping and 270ing of all the rails. Everybody should come out and watch, and then after the exhibitions, me and the other Liquid Force cable crew will be hanging out and teaching and doing some demos.”

Former wakeskaters of the year, Aaron Reed and Danny Hampson, will also be on hand for the celebration.
