Wakeboard Boat Review

Malibu‘s Wakesetter 20 MXZ is a small, effective wake boat for riding and surf that has a wide bow and a ton of useful features. The new dash has a massive 12-inch center touch screen for primary functions and a 7-inch auxiliary screen that’s useful for maps, music and deeper functionality. The system has an intuitive interface that lets you do everything from editing rider presets to monitoring depth and even watching video. There’s a joystick to the left that provides analog redundancy and a water resistant box on the right for anything you need to keep out of the elements. Next is performance. Weighted or not, this boat is a ton of fun to drive. The throttle is responsive and steering is immediate on this nimble hull. There’s also a new function that lets you adjust the throttle profile, which means you can set how aggressive you want the response to be when you accelerate. And finally we’ve got Surf Gate. If you surf and you don’t know what it’s about, you’re missing out. Surf Gate lets you keep the same weighting configuration as wakeboarding and you can switch from side to side by pressing a button at the joystick or the touch screen.
