Tigé MyWake Global Challenge Officially Opens, Introducing First-of-its-Kind Virtual Contest Format

Orlando, Fla. — Coupling the most progressive wake-riding with an open field of the world’s best wakeboarders, wakeskaters and wakesurfers, Tigé has officially opened the contest window for its highly-anticipated MyWake Global Challenge. The revolutionary MyWake contest will use the borderless virtual landscape of the internet to encourage riders in the three wake disciplines to submit their very best run online via http://mywake.tige.com for a chance to advance to a live two-day final competition in Orlando.

In contrast to traditional live contests where riders have one chance to make the most of an unpredictable run, the MyWake contest’s virtual format allows competitors to submit a video of their very best possible run to the judges – ensuring the highest quality of riding ever in a contest.

“The Tigé MyWake Global Challenge redefines wake competitions by showcasing the very best runs that happen by the world’s best riders in the three wake disciplines at any given time,” said Tigé President Rick Correll. “We are excited to introduce a new format that brings wakeboarding, wakeskating and wakesurfing into the same contest arena for the first time and pins each athletes’ top run against one and other.”

From May 1 through July 31, riders can enter the unique event by submitting a two-minute unedited video of their best run to www.Tige.com or to the event site http://mywake.tige.com . Judges from the World Wakeboard Association (WWA) will review the submissions and select monthly winners through the end of July. Monthly winners will be invited to the live final event in Orlando.

The MyWake contest also features an interactive voting element for wake fans around the world. Fans who “like” the contest on the official Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/MyWake will have the opportunity to weigh in on the outcome of each division. Each time a person “likes” or “shares” an individual video that will have a weighted voting effect for that video and will be figured into the final calculations for determining the winners in each wake discipline.

A fourth finalist for each division will be added based on the video results of a Tigé MyWake Global Challenge Ride Day, held at Tigé boat dealers around the world.

Each amateur division will pit the three monthly winners, plus the one Tigé Ride Day winner, against each other in an online final for worldwide bragging rights.
