Pro Wakeboard Tour Heads To Elizabethtown, Kentucky

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is headed to Elizabethtown, Kentucky, on June 18-19, for the third stop of the 2010 season. The two-day event, held on the waters of Freeman Lake Park, features the top pro wakeboarders from throughout the globe competing for cash, points and pride by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts, while being towed on the water behind the official Pro Wakeboard Tour towboat, the MasterCraft X-Star.

The event, which begins at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, will feature preliminary rounds for the Jr. Pro Men and Pro Men divisions and is free to the public. The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour wraps up on Saturday, June 19, with the ticketed event starting at noon and the Main Event running from 5-8 p.m.

The Main Event will feature high-energy athlete introductions, leading into the Pro Men finals, as well as a new double-up contest and big-air challenge. The two new competitions are designed to feature select athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that aren’t normally attempted in a contest.

Last year, Phillip Soven won the 2009 Elizabethtown Pro Tour stop and looks to repeat in the Bluegrass State in 2010. Soven is coming off his recent win at Fort Worth, but faces a tough field of competitors, including Aussie phenom Harley Clifford, Rusty Malinoski and Kentucky native Bryan Hutton.

In addition to all the on-the-water action, on land the Pro Tour’s new entertainment stage will feature athlete interviews, color commentators and live interactive music provided by DJ “Drop Top” Brandon Thomas and mind-blowing drummer Mike Mantas.

Fans will also enjoy plenty of great food, athlete autograph signings, chances to win freebies, and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment, including wakeboard boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions.
