Pro Tour Awards Set For Aug. 16 In Reno

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will wrap up its 18th season with the final stop of the 2009 tour at Sparks Marina, just outside Reno, Nevada, on Aug. 14-16. The PWT will also host its annual awards ceremony in Reno in the Celebrity Showroom of the John Ascuaga’s Nugget on Aug. 16 from 8-10 p.m.

“Everyone works extremely hard during the season, and this party is a celebration of those season-long efforts,” says Sean Dishman, sales and marketing director of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour. “It’s a chance for athletes and sponsors to relax, have fun and reflect on all that was accomplished in 2009.”

The festivities will include drinks and appetizers, an end-of-the-season video highlighting some of the most memorable moments on tour in 2009, and the awards presentation.

Awards will be presented to the Reno tour stop winners, as well as the overall Pro Men and Jr. Pro Men champions. Rookie of the Year honors for the Pro Mens division will also be presented during the ceremony.

The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is a five-stop series points race for a cash purse and the coveted Pro Tour title. Athletes accumulate points at each Tour stop based on final placement in each event. The highest total points earner at the end of the five-event season takes home the cash and Pro Tour title.
