Pro Wakeboard Tour Covers New Ground

Orlando, FL – The 15th season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will cover some new ground. In 2006, the Pro Wakeboard Tour will make stops in Atlanta, Georgia and St. Paul, Minnesota, two cities that haven’t been on the Tour’s radar in recent years.

The Pro Wakeboard Tour will get started May 4-7 at Dallas Landing Park in Acworth, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. Dallas Landing Park is an 82-acre park that overlooks Lake Allatoona.

Stop NO. 2 will take the world’s top wakeboarding professionals to Island Lake in Shoreview, Minnesota – just outside of St. Paul.

“It’s time to expand the reach of the Pro Wakeboard Tour,” said Sean Dishman of World Sports & Marketing. “It’s been almost 10 years since the Tour has been to St. Paul and Atlanta. The sport has changed so much, and the riders are doing so much amazing stuff these cities should be hyped for our return.”

As in 2005, the Pro Wakeboard Tour will be comprised of five stops in 2006. Tour stops will include return visits to Lake Okanagan in Kelowna, BC Canada July 7-9, Blue Lake Park in Portland, Oregon July 15-16 and Reno/Sparks, Nevada July 28-30.

Reno will host the season finale for the first time with season ending titles to be determined in Men’s, Women’s and Junior Men’s Wakeboarding and Wakeskate.

“Looking up and down the schedule, all these events are primed to be huge,” said Dishman. “Atlanta is a very hip place, and the biggest city in the south. St. Paul is the home if diehard watersports fans and enthusiasts in the Midwest. We’ve been drawing 30,000 fans each year in Kelowna and nearly 20,000 in Portland and Reno.”

The Pro Men’s division, MasterCraft Junior X Series and SeaDoo Watercraft Pro Wakeskate Series will be featured at all five events on the Pro Wakeboard Tour in 2006. The Pro Women’s division will be featured in two events in 2006, the season-opening event in Atlanta and the Pro Tour’s season finale at the Reno/Sparks event.

MasterCraft will be the exclusive towboat for the Pro Tour as it has been since the Tour’s wakeboarding events began in 1992. Indmar Marine Engines will provide the power for MasterCraft’s line of competition towboats, the X Series.
