The WWA Executive Board has named Shannon Starling its newest member. Starling most recently served as the Executive Director of the WWA and over the past eight years has been responsible for more than 435 days of grassroots events, wakeboard clinics and bus tours. In addition, he successfully created and launched the Chevrolet WWA Collegiate Wakeboard Challenge and was instrumental in bringing the WWA Wakeboard World Series together for the 2004 and 2005 season.
Starling, a former pro rider and founding WWA board member, accepts his new leadership position with enthusiasm and is dedicated to overseeing the growth of grassroots programs, launching the 2006 WWA Wakeboard World Series and the expansion of the WWA Worlds outside of the USA. Starling will be the primary contact for all industry negotiation and event planning on behalf of the WWA. “There is no one else that knows the inner workings of the WWA like Starling,” says Jimmy Redmon, the current WWA President.
The addition of Starling to the Executive Board of the WWA is the first of many exciting changes supporting a new and dynamic strategic plan. The WWA is dedicated to maintaining its leadership role as the pre-eminent national organization for riders and industry representatives with a passion for wake sports. Look for press releases in the near future as WWA continues to move forward with its exciting plans.
