The Toeside 540

Rider: Chase Heavener
Level: Intermediate

A 5 doesn’t require a really hard cut; just come at it progressively and make sure you pop all the way up first before you start spinning. If you’re going for the nose grab bring your knees up as soon as you are airborne and grab right on the tip of the nose while pulling the handle in to the small of your back. If you want to do it ungrabbed, try popping straight up and pulling the handle with BOTH hands toward your trailing hip. This will almost immediately pull you into a 360; then, all you have to do is pass the handle and keep turning toward the boat.

Rider’s Tip:
Keep spinning! Don’t try to do a 360 and then a 180. Think spin the whole time until you have the handle in the opposite hand and are ready to land.
