Heelside Back Mobe

April 2, 2000

It helps first of all if you can do a handle-pass 360, in the same direction you’re attempting the mobius, and a regular roll-to-revert. Make sure those are solid before attempting your mobes. Begin with a mellow progressive heelside approach as if doing a wake-to-wake roll to revert. As you leave the wake, push the board away from the boat and look in the same direction. At the peak of your rotation, let go with your lead hand and pull the handle into the small of your back simultaneously turning your hips back toward the boat. The farther you pull the handle through the small of your back, the easier the trick. Use your free hand to complete the handle pass and look at the horizon for your landing.
