Texas Ski Ranch is the Disney World of U.S. cable wake parks. The cable itself helped produce Tom Fooshee, the 2008 Wake Park World Series champ and arguably the best cable rider in the world, and is home to one of the strongest communities of riders anywhere. At TSR, pros like Aaron Reed, Gabe Lucas and Brett Little ride alongside first-time rippers. But the cable is just the beginning. In fact, TSR's 70-acre compound is packed full of more attractions than any other park in the country. You can session the full-size skate park, dual motocross tracks and 2,000-foot-long boat lake. Demo gear from Liquid Force, Ronix, Hyperlite, Byerly and Company in the 10,000-square-foot board shop, and test-drive an X-Star from the full-service MasterCraft dealership. Or just kick back on the sprawling white-sand beach or on the patio at CoCoNutz, a restaurant and bar that offers expansive views of all the action. As if all that weren't enough, TSR recently added a two-tower cable system, Rixen's Lil' Bro, to complement its already off-the-hook action-sports extravaganza.

2 Million

How many times TSR's fun box, the park's most popular obstacle, has been hit, according to TSR's Blake Hess. "There are so many ways to ride it," Hess says. "Beginners can hit the box, intermediate riders can hit the rail and advanced riders transfer from the box to the rail." Six other obstacles complement the fun box, including two kickers, a rooftop rail, the two-sided wall ride known as The Iceberg and our favorite, the WAKEBOARDING mag rail.

Higher Learning

TSR offers a range of instruction from private professional lessons to weeklong summer camps, which grant kids ages 6 to 16 access to everything from the cable park to the motocross tracks. TSR even offers a wakeboarding course at nearby Texas State University. With two cables and top-level coaching behind MasterCraft boats, Camp TSR offers more water time each day than traditional wake camps.

The number of events TSR hosts every year. An eight-event summer series is bookended by February and fall events that kick off and close the season. Then there's Cablestock, the largest and longest-running cable event in the country, which this summer attracted almost 8,000 people with a weekend of cable and boat contests as well as live music and a bikini contest.

The size in square feet of TSR's skate park. The street-style course features two half-pipes in addition to all sorts of ramps, rails and fun boxes.

"TSR is a combination of so many great things. For starters, you have the cable lake, which has some of the best rails in the country, as well as a center island that keeps the rollers out and the water smooth. Beyond the cable, you have one of the best wake scenes anywhere. We have a great community of riders who are always at the park, and it's a college town, so there are always tons of beautiful girls in bikinis on the beach. Add to that the boat lake and dealership and the restaurant and bar and there are just too many great things to name them all." — Tom Fooshee
