Some of the top pro wakeboarders in Texas are heading West to take part in the Second Annual Riptank Rail Jam – Jam at the Garden. It’s the second stop of the 2008 Texas Wakeboard Tour Rail Jam Series and it takes place Saturday, April 12, on Buddy Holly Avenue. In addition to wakeboarding, this action sports block party will feature a bikini contest and plenty of live music from Mothers Anthem, Sounds Under Radio, Strangleweed and headliner – Tantric.
The Riptank Rail Jam – Jam at the Garden will take place in the heart of Lubbock’s entertainment district known locally as “The Lower Depot “. The event will take place on Buddy Holly Avenue at the Beer Garden. The wakeboard rail jam set-up will include three portable pools filled with over 30,000 gallons of water and separated by two forty foot rails and a big air kicker.
Already scheduled to compete are top regional riders including Texas Wakeboard Tour regulars Tom Fooshee, Brian Sasser, Joe Lemberg, Rusty Scott, Steve Campbell, Billy Garcia, Lucas Snyder, brothers Clint and Collin Gee, and returning champion – Gabe Lucas.
Gates open and live music starts at 6:00pm. The rail jam will begin at 8:00pm. Tickets are available now at Ralph’s Record locations, the Beer Garden and Riptank Boardshop located at 50th and Elgin in Lubbock. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
