2005 Chevrolet WWA Collegiate Wakeboard Challenge

The Chevrolet WWA Collegiate Wakeboard Challenge is back again and aimed to bring more than 80 riders, 20 colleges, loaded boats, and all the wakeboarding you can handle for 2005. This year’s event will be held at Lake Havasu City, Arizona, home of the London Bridge, hot sun, and starry nights.

As schools root on their teams, get the chance to hang with pro riders, catch a tan, and participate in the evenings’ festivities. Lake Havasu City is for those who want a true boating spring break. With sponsors like Chevrolet, Vortec engines, Malibu Boats, Nautiques, Supra Boats and WWA throwing cash around for the top schools, there is no reason to be anywhere else.

The Chevrolet WWA Collegiate Wakeboard Challenge will be syndicated on every major network nationwide. Outdoor Life Network (OLN) will be back again to document the action, school spirit, and expose the best U.S. collegiate riders on the Vortec Power Hour. The event aired last year, showing the fun and excitement to the viewers who wished they were there.

Last year, schools from all over the U.S. competed against each other to show who was worthy enough to take home the cup and cash flow. Top competitors who placed last year include Joel Cahill, Lauren Bowman and Joey White, and Western Washington University walked away with the team crown. It will be interesting to see what they have up their sleeves for this year.

Pros such as Josh Sanders, Gerry Nunn, and Loren Levin also came to show their support, judge and cheer from the sidelines. Everyone had a great time, and host Todd Weatherill said, “This is the best vibe I’ve had at a contest in the past ten years.” This year it will be even better with the hot sun, Mohave Desert and Havasu’s legend of entertaining college students.

Don’t kick yourself later for not coming this year; it will be well worth your time and travel. It’s a chance to put the books down, let yourself go and have a good time. Wakeboarding, sun, and an opportunity for a weekend getaway, the WWA Collegiate Wakeboard Challenge is an event not to miss.
