Hansen Proves Weightless at 2004 Gravity Games

Perth, Australia (October 14-17, 2004) – Thousands packed the shore to witness Trevor Hansen win the final leg of the WWA Wakeboarding World Series part of the Gravity Games H2O, which took place outside of the United States for the first time on the Swan River in South Perth, Australia. MXPX, Lagwagon, and several other local bands rocked the scene while the wakeboarding competition, and skateboarding, surfing, Moto X, and BMX demos went on throughout the weekend. Twenty-eight wakeboarders went head to head to compete for the largest wakeboarding prize purse to date of $155,000. After riding in the salt water, riders went and got star treatment in the huge VIP area that was open all day with more than enough drinks and food to go around.

When finals kicked off on Sunday, October, 17th Trevor Hansen stomped the course, landing a backside seven off the double up and taking his first pro win ever. “After I rode, I knew I did well, but I didn’t think I placed that great,” Trevor said. “There was a really big mix up before I started my run, with the guy who was doing the ropes. He put my rope at 55 feet instead of 82, so I did my whole first pass riding 30 feet shorter than usual. I finally got them to stop and put me all the way out because I knew something was wrong. It totally threw my head out of the game. But later, after I won, I went up and thanked the rope guy,” said Trevor.

Supra and Moomba are the official towboats for GG H20.
