Wakeboard Boat Review
The smallest boat in Malibu Boats‘ MXZ line, the Wakesetter 20 MXZ shares many of the same features as its bigger brothers, but at just 20 feet in length, it’s much more manageable for size-restricted waterways, towing long distances and storing in a standard garage. The 20 MXZ has a surprisingly good surf wave for its size, and it’s only improved with the available Surf Gate. This wakesurf-enhancing system lets you switch the sides of your wave instantly while the boat stays evenly weighted. Surf Gate is faster in 2014 and now features a rider indicator light, so wake-to-wake transfers are easier than ever. It’s just a matter of hitting the button as you pump, taking all the guesswork out of the timing. Inside, the 20 MXZ has one of the biggest, widest, deepest bows in a 20-footer. The wide nose looks great and makes the bow a place people will want to hang out. The 20 MXZ also features amazing handling. The boat performs great whether you have weight in it or not, and the hull was built to counteract the bow rise that can occur with a wide-nose bow.
The Malibu Wakesetter 20 MXZ is the best wakeboard boat for you if: You love the look and extra space of a wide-nose bow, but you want it in a smaller size class that’s more convenient for towing, storage and small waterways.
