Meet Chantel Higgenbotham, winner of the January 2011 Miss TransWorld WAKEBOARDING contest on wakeboardingmag.com. This athletic 23 year old from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is a two-time Hooters calender girl and a former MAXIM Hometown Hotties contestant. Now Chantel will have a shot at the title of Miss TransWorld WAKEBOARDING 2011. She’ll go head to head against other Miss TransWorld WAKEBOARDING monthly contest winners for the chance to rep the brand for a year and participate in a photo shoot aboard the TransWorld WAKEBOARDING Supra Launch 21V. In the meantime, we found out a little more about Miss Higgenbotham.
You said you’ve been riding for two years now. How did you get started? I was definitely born a water baby. My family would always go to the lake and reservoir every summer to ski, tube and ride WaveRunners. And I learned how to surf in Hawaii about seven years ago. Yet, for some reason I never tried wakeboarding until college when some of my friends asked me to try it a few summers ago. Now I love it!
Where’s your favorite place to ride? Crooked Lake in Indiana
What’s the one trick you wish you could do most? An S-bend. That would be awesome if I could nail it!
Who’s your favorite pro rider?Shawn Watson
What do you do for a living? Right now I’m a server and a bikini model for Hooters. I’m also the Rock Girl at 98.9, a rock radio station in northern Indiana.
How long have you been modeling and what kinds of work have you done? I’ve been involved with modeling for about five years. I have a little experience with runway, but mostly print ad. I have modeled for Hooters for three years now. You can find me in the 2010 and 2011 Hooters calendars. I was also a Hometown Hottie for Maxim, and I got the chance to be on billboards in Indiana for the radio station I currently work with.
How did the Hooters calendar happen for you? You have to be employed at Hooters to submit pictures and then the company picks girls to be in the International calendar. I have worked there for five years now. I submitted pictures the first two years I worked at Hooters, but wasn’t really sure what they were looking for and as a result didn’t make it. But I’m not one to give up, so the third time was definitely a charm for me. Now I’m glad I had the opportunity to not only be in there once, but twice. Fingers crossed for a third time in 2012.
Turn-ons? Athletic, honest, ambitious guys who can just be themselves around me.
Turn-offs? Guys who are cocky, laziness and shorter than me.
